Welcome To Our Department

From the HOD Desk

The Department of Educational Technology and Library Studies came into existence in the mid-seventies as an Audio-Visual Centre.  Between 1976 and 1978, it provided support services for enriching teaching and research for students and lecturers across different Faculties and Departments.  This brought about the installation of Closed Circuit Television units (CCTV) in the auditoria around the campus to take care of large classes. The Department has an academic section as well as a technical section.

The Technical section provided support services like audio, video and photographic coverage of important University events such as: inaugural lectures, convocation ceremonies, congregation, investigation panels and other special events as directed by the Vice-chancellor. The academic section is responsible for teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses.  The Department currently runs M. Ed., M.A. Ed, M.Phil. and Ph.D. courses in Educational Technology.
